Below are the positions we’re currently hiring for:

Entry Level Life Safety Inspector 

We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our fire system, inspection team. This position will be in the Inspection and Testing Division with possible future rotation into the fire alarm service or installation departments. This position will involve going to different properties and testing the fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and other life safety systems, and complete all of the required compliance forms.

The primary schedule is 4-10 hour days per week, usually Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM and 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM. You will have to work both schedules depending on the needs of the customer and there will also be exceptions to this where you could be asked to work Saturdays or alternate hours.

This is a training position and applicants will be registered with the state as electrical trainees and will be required to complete a minimum of 1 online class every 90 days to be eligible to work.

Required Qualifications:

  • Live within 30 miles of Mountain View
  • Provide basic hand tools required to perform the job (tool list provided during training)
  • Able to perform physical labor, work in tight spaces, climb ladders and lift up to 50lbs

Fire alarm installation Technician

Statcomm is a Farenhyt & Gamewell Elite dealer. We are looking for experienced installers to install Fire Alarm Systems in new and existing buildings. We work primarily in multifamily housing as well as government projects. Come join an expanding installation department with multiple job sites around the San Francisco Bay area.

4-day, 10-hour schedule

Primary job duties:

  • Retrofit existing conventional buildings to addressable systems
  • Change out existing equipment to Farenhyt/Gamewell
  • Interface with electrical subcontractors for conduit & wire installation
  • Install AES or Cellular communicators
  • Low-Frequency sounder upgrades
  • Assess and label existing cabling
  • Interface with the design department for change orders and provide as-builts after work is complete
  • Direct and train less experienced staff members
  • Fill out all required documentation in a timely manner
  • Drive safely in a company vehicle and care for company tools

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience installing fire systems required
  • Accurately document and assess existing equipment during retrofit
  • Able to perform basic programming on multiple brands of fire equipment
  • California Life Safety Card required within 90 days of employment
  • Provide basic hand tools related to installation

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00 – $50.00 per hour

Fire Alarm Service Technician

We are looking for an experienced service technician who can work on a wide variety of fire systems. We install Farenhyt and Gamewell but we support all brands of equipment.

Shifts are usually scheduled between 7:30 AM and 8:30 PM Monday through Friday however being part of the on-call rotation is a requirement as well as occasional work outside of normal days or hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with fire alarms
  • Correct deficiencies found by our testing department
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years full-time experience servicing and installing a variety of fire alarm systems
  • Knowledge and application of National Fire Code (NFPA-72) and NEC
  • Experience troubleshooting and servicing older systems a benefit
  • Able to work independently
  • California Fire/Life Safety Certification will be required within 90 days of hire
  • Able to work nights, weekends, and overtime

Pay: $32.00 – $50.00 per hour

Fire Extinguisher and Kitchen Suppression systems technician

We are looking for a strong candidate to develop and train to perform maintenance, inspections, installation, and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, suppression systems, and related equipment or an experienced and certified Fire Extinguisher Technician.

4-10 hour day work schedule primarily Monday through Thursday

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently, be mechanically inclined, and self-motivated.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Attention to detail & good follow-through.
  • Must work in a professional and safe manner.
  • Proficient at interpersonal communication.
  • Ability to keep company-supplied service vehicles clean, organized, and with a complete inventory.
  • Capable of performing physical labor including occasionally carrying and/or moving items weighing up to 85 lbs.
  • Employee must be able to study for and acquire type 1 extinguisher certification within 90 days.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly and annual inspections of portable fire extinguishers & complete required documentation
  • Perform installation of fire extinguisher cabinets and portable fire extinguishers
  • Perform evaluations of properties to ensure they meet the code requirements for spacing of portable fire extinguishers
  • Prior extinguisher shop experience (internal maintenance, recharge, hydro testing) with California Fire Extinguisher Certificate of Registration Type 2 or 3 preferred
  • Kitchen Fire Suppression System service experience preferred

Entry-level Pay: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour

Gate/Door/Access Control Technician

We are currently seeking an experienced gate/door/Access Control technician.. This position will be to service and install pedestrian and vehicle gates, fire doors, telephone entry systems and access systems. You will have a variety of assignments that should be completed with minimal supervision.

8-hour, 5 days per week

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IN THE FOLLOWING PREFERRED:

Installation and Service:

  • Vehicle Gates and Operators
  • Rolling Grilles
  • Rollup & Sectional Doors
  • Barrier Arms
  • Access Control systems and Tele-entry units
  • Laundry and Refuse Chutes
  • Fire Doors
  • Welding experience preferred but will train

Minimum Requirements

  • Good reading and writing skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to perform physical labor, climb ladders and lift up to 70lbs

Fire Sprinkler Technician/Pipe Fitter

We are currently seeking a Fire Sprinkler System Technician to join our growing staff.  This position will be focused on delivering outstanding customer support and superior technical skills.  You will have a variety of assignments that should be completed with minimal supervision. * Fitter card or enrolled in the apprentice program preferred

Minimum Requirements for Position:

  • Minimum 3-years of documented experience troubleshooting, servicing, and installing Fire Sprinkler Systems
  • Able to perform physical labor
  • Cut, thread, and groove pipe
  • Assemble and install a variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic
  • Connect pipes, using threaded, soldered, grooved, or cemented joints
  • Secure pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers
  • Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment such as pumps and tanks
  • Able to work with heights and operate lifts
  • Able to read blueprints and distinguish the route of the installation 
  • Able to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, work from lifts and lift up to 70lbs
  • Familiar with applicable fire and building codes (preferred)
  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision or as part of a team
  • Able to work occasionally on weekends and evenings
  • Ability to work after-hours on-call rotation
  • Clean driver’s license (no more than one-point on DMV record w/ no DUI or license suspension history)
  • Negative drug test (administered by 3rd-party)
  • Clean criminal background check (administered by 3rd-party)
  • Good references (professional and personal)
