In this month’s Statcomm Employee Spotlight, we’re pleased to introduce you to one of the new members of our Electronics Department – Installation Division, project coordinator Denise Leithold-Vann. Denise comes to us with a diverse and impressive resume including project coordination, software QA and permit and inspection coordination. Although she’s fairly new to the company, she has proven herself to be an immense asset and we hope she’ll remain with us for quite some time!

Denise was born in San Francisco and grew up in the city, Daly City and San Carlos. She has lived as far south as San Jose and currently lives in Redwood City. In her own words, “One could say this apple hasn’t fallen far from the tree. Since I feel that we continue to learn and change each day, I believe that growing up is an ongoing evolution of oneself.”

Outside of work, Denise has been an avid Giants and 49ers fan her whole life. She loves to be outside exploring, just last year having hiked the Machu Picchu Inca Trail in Peru. She also loves live music, drum, dance and spending time with her friends enjoying what life has to offer. On any given day she is always on the lookout for the next adventure or activity. During the long summer days, she leads hikes for the Sierra Club in many of the Open Spaces and nearby parks. In the winter when the weather is not so pleasant she plays board and card games and enjoys lapidary.

Denise thrives on new challenges and is immersed in learning about fire systems and how they operate. She says she’s lucky to work with an awesome team who she assists by recoding, documenting and helping keep the work flow smooth. She also supports the Statcomm team by assisting our managers in keeping the clients informed and up to date on current projects. When her schedule allows, Denise likes making site visits to get even more familiar with specific panels and projects.

For Denise, every day is a good day! Being able to start the day off with freshly brewed coffee in the breakroom with her colleagues is a perfect way to begin the morning. She says the camaraderie with her coworkers, and even more so her direct colleagues, has been great. “I have felt welcomed from day one, and my team especially and I have really bonded in and outside of work when fun activities have come up. Not coming from a fire and life safety background, I have been assisted by many people who were glad to help when I had and have questions. I believe that this is one of the nicest places I have worked and it has become a family outside of my own.”

We’re very excited to have Denise as part of our Statcomm family and if you happen to see her in the office or out on site, be sure to say hello!
